The event provided a unique opportunity for prospective students to explore the school's modern campus and learn more about the programmes, supports and extra curricular activities on offer.

Visitors were greeted by Head Girl, Faye Hynes, and Head Boy, Patrick Wickham, and were then given guided tours led by current students, who shared their personal experiences and insights about school life. The tours showcased the school's state-of-the-art facilities, including modern science labs, practical rooms, arts spaces and expansive sports areas, all designed to enhance the educational experience.

Interactive demonstrations captured the attention of young attendees, who eagerly participated in hands-on activities ranging from science experiments, using the state-of-the-art engineering equipment to creative arts projects. Parents, too, found value in the event, engaging with teachers and listening John Nolan's Principal's Address, who highlighted the innovative curriculum aimed at fostering both academic achievement and personal development.

Feedback from the evening was overwhelmingly positive, with many families expressing excitement about enrolling their children. As the night concluded, Deputy Principal, Avril Buttle, was thrilled with the turnout: "it is inspiring to see our school thriving.

"Tonight's Open Night showcased our vibrant community, and we look forward to welcoming next year's 6th class students. These students will experience the build of our new extension, featuring state-of-the-art practical rooms, modern science labs, and spacious mainstream classrooms. This expansion underscores our commitment to providing an exceptional learning environment that nurtures creativity and innovation."

The Open Night coincided with Junior Cycle results day, where Coláiste Abbáin's Transition Year students and 5th Year students celebrated the success of their Junior Cycle results. The school organised a celebratory breakfast for their students and a gathering in the school hall where students and staff came together to celebrate the remarkable results.

Coláiste Abbáin's Principal, John Nolan, commented during the event that the school is "immensely proud of every single student's achievement" and acknowledged the team of teachers and support staff that helped students reach their potential.
