Dim sum, acai bowls and some notorious chicken fingers. Those are just some of the eats you'll find at these four businesses that have recently opened in Brookfield, Wauwatosa and Elm Grove. Serious Sanji in Wauwatosa A new Chinese restaurant that's brought dumplings and dim sum to a Tosa strip mall opened strong in mid-October. Located at 853 N. Mayfair Road, Serious Sanji's menu is stacked with dishes like dim sum, pan-fried or steamed dumplings, noodles, rice and xiao long bao soup dumplings. Customers can choose from 10 different iced green tea options and almost double the flavors of milk tea including mocha, jasmine, sakura rose or lychee milk tea, before adding boba toppings. The Wauwatosa restaurant is the business's first location outside Florida, where there are already five restaurants, according to the Serious Sanji website. Between the robot waiters that bring you your food and the mini bun cup stacked on top of the boba tea of your choice, Serious Sanji shows promise to quickly become a Tosa favorite. Nona in Elm Grove Nona is newish to Elm Grove — the health store and café opened in July, The Waukesha Freeman reported . But the Elm Grove store debuted its coffee bar in the first week of November, according to the business's Facebook page . Nona Nutrition is both a health store ― selling specialized groceries and nutritional supplements ― and a café, with an organic foods menu that includes acai smoothie bowls, smoothies and coffee drinks. Nona opened a location in Delafield on Nov. 9, according to Facebook. Elm Grove's Nona café is located at 13320 Watertown Plank Road, taking over the space that was once home to Fairgrounds Coffee and Tea , which closed abruptly in February 2024. Nona Elm Grove is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Raising Cane's in Brookfield Customers lined up eagerly to win free chicken finger meals when Raising Cane's Brookfield opened in early September. The new Brookfield store, at 12660 W. Capitol Drive, is part of the franchise's plan to expand throughout Wisconsin this year and beyond , with at least three more locations planned in the state. The Brookfield store and drive-thru are open from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday, according to the website. New Panera Bread in Wauwatosa Wauwatosa's Milwaukee County Research Park got a new Panera Bread in September. Located at 850 N. Mayfair Road , the Panera Bread is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. Online and in-store ordering is available at the Wauwatosa café, which offers everything from soups, salads and sandwiches to mac and cheese and sweets.
