What’s open and closed on Thanksgiving Day in the Inland Empire
GOVERNMENT OFFICES: Federal, state, county and city offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.
MAIL DELIVERY: There is no mail delivery Thursday, but mail will be delivered on Friday.
Banks, savings and loans and credit unions will be closed Thursday, with some opening on Friday.
STORES: Most stores will be closed Thursday. Most will resume regular hours on Friday.
Riverside Transit Agency, Dial-A-Ride will not operate on Thursday. Buses will resume Friday with regular service. The Customer Information Center will be closed Thursday and reopen 6 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday. Administrative offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.
Omnitrans Bus will not operate on Thursday. Buses will resume Friday on regular schedules. The Customer Service Call Center will be closed Thursday and reopen on Friday. Administrative offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.
Foothill Transit will run according to their weekend or Sunday Service schedules. Foothill Transit will observe the Thanksgiving holiday with holiday bus service and Transit Store holiday hours.

The schedule includes service on the Ventura County Line, Antelope Valley Line, San Bernardino Line, Orange County Line, 91/Perris Valley Line and Inland Empire-Orange County Line. Trains will not operate on the Riverside Line. The $10 Holiday Pass will also be available on Thursday and Friday. It allows riders to take unlimited trips throughout the system for the entire day on which the pass is purchased. The $10 Holiday Pass can be purchased on the Metrolink Mobile App or at Station Ticket Machines under “special ticket options.” The Kids Ride Free on Weekends promotion is not available with the $10 Holiday Pass on Thursday or Friday.
The Rail 2 Rail program , which allows Metrolink Monthly Pass holders to use their passes on Amtrak Pacific Surfliner within Ventura County and Orange County, will be suspended from Nov. 22 to Nov. 27. Normal Rail 2 Rail service will resume Nov. 28. This blackout period also applies to all codeshare Amtrak Pacific Surfliner trains along the Ventura County Line. Due to increased Thanksgiving travel, codeshare will not apply from Nov. 22 to Nov. 27.
Riders are encouraged to check train schedules when planning holiday travel and should note that Amtrak policies apply on all Amtrak Pacific Surfliner trains.
LIBRARIES: Riverside County and San Bernardino County libraries are closed Thursday and Friday. Redlands’ A.K. Smiley Public Library will be closed Thursday through Sunday.
Most schools will be out all week, including California Baptist University, La Sierra University, Riverside City College, San Bernardino Community College, San Bernardino Valley College and Harvey Mudd College. Closed Wednesday through Friday will be the University of Redlands, Keck Graduate Institute and Pitzer College. Closed Thursday and Friday will be UC Riverside, Cal State San Bernardino, Mt. San Jacinto College, Chaffey College, University of La Verne, Cal Poly Pomona and Western University of Health Sciences.
TRASH PICKUP: City of Riverside, city of Redlands, Burrtec, CR&R, Cal Disposal and Waste Management of the Inland Empire will not have service on Thursday; service will be delayed by one day. Riverside County and San Bernardino county landfills will be closed Thursday.
