Where is UK football projected to play a bowl game after 3-2 start?

LEXINGTON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — After six weeks of college football and five games, Kentucky's tumultuous first half of the season appears to be stabilizing finally.

Coach Mark Stoops said the team was in good spirits, coming off a much-needed bye-week after stunning the then-sixth-ranked Ole Miss Rebels on their home field.

  • "I feel like the guys are in a, you know, good, good place. But, you know, they'll continue to get some rest, obviously without having to play on Saturday. Their bodies need to recover a little bit," Stoops said .

    A big win doesn't invite complacency. The Cats host a suddenly dangerous Vanderbilt team Saturday night at Kroger Field. Vanderbilt is surging after shocking the college football world and upsetting the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide this past Saturday.

    There's still a lot of work to be done for the Wildcats to win six games and officially be bowl-eligible.

    Some of the top sports websites project the Cats to make their ninth straight bowl game and 24th overall.

  • Music City Bowl vs. Nebraska – Dec. 30

  • Liberty Bowl vs. BYU – Dec. 27

  • Las Vegas Bowl vs. Colorado – Dec. 27

  • The Cats are hoping to get a number of injured players healed up as they get ready for three massive games in October: Vanderbilt, at Florida, and Auburn.

    With high-stakes matchups the next two months, like on Nov. 2 against Tennessee in Knoxville and Nov. 23 against Texas in Austin, and other matchups against Murray State and Louisville, there's still plenty of time to improve Kentucky's bowl projection.
