Where to find Veterans Day events in the Inland Empire

Veterans Day is Monday, Nov. 11, and cities and organizations throughout the Inland Empire are holding events in the coming days to honor those who served in the United States military.

Here's a look at some of those events:

LA County

• The city and American Legion Keith Powell Post 78 are hosting a Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11 at Memorial Park, 840 North Indian Hill Blvd. The ceremony will honor those who have served and will also include comments from Claremont resident retired Army Gen. Austin Scott Miller. Claremont Heroes banners have also gone up and will stay up through the first week of January.

La Verne

• The city will hold its Veterans Day ceremony to give veterans "a heroes welcome home" on Monday, Nov. 11. TheThe 11 a.m. event includes a flag-raising ceremony and special recognition for each branch of the military and will be held at Veterans Hall, 1550 Bonita Ave.

Riverside County

• A Veterans Day car show , featuring pre-1980 classic, custom, and lowrider vehicles, will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at Crossings at Corona, 2470 Tuscany St. The free event will also feature a petting zoo, crafts for kids, and a DJ.

• The city and the Eastvale Chamber of Commerce, along with the Jurupa Community Service District are hosting a Veterans Day ceremony to honor those who have served at 8 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11 at American Heroes Park, 6608 Hellman Ave.

• The city is holding its annual Veterans Day ceremony at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at the Hemet Veterans Memorial at Gibbel Park, 2350 W Latham Ave. Two names will be added to the Veterans Memorial during the ceremony, and festivities and veterans-related services will take place at Gibbel Park following.

Jurupa Valley

• The city's annual Salute to Veterans Parade & Celebration is planned for 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov 9 along Mission Boulevard. The parade route starts at the corner of Mission and Rubidoux. The Veterans Celebration, which will have live music, food, a kids' zone and more, will follow the parade and go until 3 p.m. at Flabob Airport, 4130 Mennes Ave. Parking is at 5370 Mission Rock Way.

Lake Elsinore

• The city's annual Veterans Day ceremony , dedicated to the men and women who have "served to protect our freedoms," will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11 at Diamond Stadium, 500 Diamond Drive.

• The city of Menifee will host its Veterans Day Celebration honoring the military community from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11 at Hidden Hills Park, 31727 Eaton Lane. An aerial flyover and comments by retired 31-year Marine Corps veteran Master Gunnery Sgt. Arthur "Artie" Allen III will be part of the ceremony.

Moreno Valley

• City officials will hold their annual Veterans Day ceremony , honoring "our nation's heroes," at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11 at the Civic Center Veterans Memorial, 14177 Frederick St. Col. Bryan M. Bailey will be the featured speaker.

• The 16th annual Murrieta Field of Honor will be up from Nov. 9-16 at Murrieta's Town Square Park, 11 Town Square. The display of thousands of full-sized American flags is organized by the Rotary Club of Murrieta and is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• The 22nd annual Veterans Day parade will take place Monday, Nov. 11. The parade starts at 10 a.m. at Washington and Kalmia and ends at Town Square Park.

• The city's Veterans Day ceremony honoring those who have served in the military will also celebrate the 10th anniversary of the George A. Ingalls Veterans Memorial Plaza, 3737 Crestview Drive. The event is set for 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11. Guests are asked to arrive by 9:45 a.m. and enter at Gate 5.

• The Riverside National Cemetery's Veterans' Day ceremony , featuring speakers and live music, will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11 in the amphitheater at the cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd. The Riverside National Cemetery Memorial Honor Detail has been hosting the ceremony since 2010.

• Volunteers will be placing flags for Veterans Day starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at Riverside National Cemetery. Flags will be removed beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12. The Flag for Every Hero program is seeking volunteers for both days.

• A Salute to Veterans Parade and Expo is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, in downtown Riverside, 3650 11th St. The parade begins at Riverside Community College, 4800 Magnolia Ave., and travels up Magnolia. The expo will include food, music and informational booths. Free parking will be available in downtown structures and at downtown meters.

• An event at Evergreen Memorial Historic Cemetery will salute veterans at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9. The General George Stoneman Jr. Camp 18 Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War is organizing the event at the cemetery, 4414 14th St. Information: The city's annual Patriotic Salute to Veterans , featuring a free concert by the Temecula Valley Symphony, is set for Monday, Nov. 11. The 6 p.m. event will be in front of Temecula's Civic Center, 41000 Main St., and will follow a presentation of military banners to recognize active military personnel from Temecula's Military Banner Program.

San Bernardino County

• The city is hosting its annual Veterans Day event , a tribute to the "men and women who have selflessly served" at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11. The event is held each year at Liberty Courtyard, outside the Community Building, 5443 B St.

Chino Hills

• The city is holding its Veterans Day Salute to Service ceremony and breakfast starting at 8 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11. The free event starts at 8 a.m. with a ceremony honoring veterans, following by a breakfast at 8:30 a.m. The breakfast is limited to 200 people and veterans will be served first.

• A parade and honor ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11 in Colton. The parade begins at O Street and will end at D Street. The ceremony will follow at Fleming Park, 525 N. La Cadena Drive.

• The city is holding its annual Veterans Day celebration , which will include music and patriotic performances, at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at Steelworkers' Auditorium, 8437 Sierra Ave.

Rancho Cucamonga

• The city is holding its Veterans Day ceremony to honor those who have served our country at 10:50 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11 at Freedom Courtyard in Central Park, 11200 Base Line Road. A community breakfast is being held before the ceremony at 9 a.m.

• The Redlands Veterans Day celebration and parade will take place Monday, Nov. 11. The parade starts at 9 a.m. at Redlands High school, 840 E Citrus Ave., and ends at Jennie Davis Park, 923 W. Redlands Blvd. American Legion Posts 106 and 650 are hosting the Veterans Day observance, which gets underway at the park at 10:45 a.m.

San Bernardino

• The city is honoring veterans at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11 with the Veterans Day Salute event at Norman F. Feldheym Central Library, 555 W. 6th St.

• The 10th annual Veterans Day ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11 at the Upland Veterans Monument , 460 N Euclid Ave. The event is put on by the Upland Veterans Monument Committee and will honor veterans with a military vehicle display, flag raising and patriotic music.

• The Yucaipa Calimesa Veterans Committee is holding a Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11 at Yucaipa Community Park, 34900 Oak Glen Road. Former Mayor Dick Riddell, a World War II veteran, will be honored.
