Where to snap a pic with Santa this holiday season
CONNECTICUT (WTNH) — Christmas spirit is in the air! This first week of November brings the first opportunities for kids and families to meet Santa, but don't worry – he'll be available through Christmas Eve.
News 8 has complied a list of some of the many events where Santa is slated to make a joyful appearance.
This list includes events happening more than one day and with clear opportunities for photos, whether from a professional photographer or with your own camera.
Danbury Mall 7 Backus Ave., Danbury Nov. 8-Dec. 24 A "Santa Cares" event with an inclusive environment for people of all ages and abilities will be Dec. 8 from 10 to 11 a.m.
Westfarms Mall 1500 New Britain Ave., West Hartford Nov. 8-Dec. 24 After you meet Santa for a picture, take off on an interactive adventure with Santa's Flight Academy, which includes Santa's 22-foot tall sleigh.
Meriden Mall 470 Lewis Ave., Meriden Nov. 16-Dec. 22 Photos with Santa's friends, kids activities, and holiday treats. Free Santa photos on Nov. 16, 17, 23, and 24 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Bass Pro Shops East Hartford & Bridgeport Nov. 8-Dec. 24 Make a free Santa photo reservation up to seven days ahead of time. Shops are offering other Santa events too.
The Shoppes at Buckland Hills 194 Buckland Hills Dr., Manchester Nov. 27-Dec. 24 Santa pictures. Sensory Santa will be available from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 8.
Lake Compounce Holiday Lights 185 Enterprise Dr., Bristol Nov. 29-Dec. 29 Tickets $16.99 each. Event includes light shows, Christmas tree, rides, and Santa at the Starlight Theatre for a meet and greet and photos.
Hartford Glow 100 Columbus Blvd., Hartford Nov. 29-Dec. 29 Enjoy interactive light gardens, "Glow-comotive" train, food and drink, live entertainment, and a free photo with Santa.
Lyman Orchards' Santa Brunch 1741 Pub & Grill, 72 Lyman Rd., Middlefield Dec. 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, and 22. Make a reservation for a brunch buffet with magical memories with Santa. Bring along your own camera.
Shoreline Trolley's Trolley to Santa 17 River St., East Haven Weekends in December Gift from Santa, decorated trolley cars, hot chocolate, lots of photo ops. Also- reserve a seat for Breakfast with Santa on Dec. 7, 14 and 21. Santa will be available for photos, but bring your own camera.
Santa's Workshop at Wickham Park 1329 Middle Turnpike W., Manchester Dec. 12-23 Mondays-Fridays 4-7 p.m., Saturday-Sundays 1-5 p.m. Meet Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, and the elves. While there are no formal photos planned, kids can meet the famous holiday couple. Bring a non-perishable food item for the local food pantries.
Rooted Play Studio 2450 Main St., Glastonbury Dec. 20-21 Storytime with Santa, a photo with him, and play time. For ages 0 months to 8 years.
