Why is the Willis Tower’s antenna lit green Sunday night?
CHICAGO – No, it's not because the Packers beat the Bears .
If you happened to look up at the Willis Tower's antenna Sunday night, you may have been discouraged to see it lit green after the Bears suffered yet another heartbreaking loss to the team from Green Bay.
However, the reason behind the phenomenon is actually for a good cause.
According to its website and social media, the Willis Tower lights its antenna green on certain occasions. In this case, it's lit green to raise awareness for youth homelessness as part of Project Green Light . Coincidentally (and fittingly), it just so happens Green Bay beat Chicago the same day the Willis Tower's antenna was scheduled to be lit green.
While this may not boost the morale of Bears fans near and far, they can at least take comfort knowing the city is not celebrating a win by their archrivals.
