Why isn’t Taylor Swift going to the Eagles-Chiefs game tonight?

Monday night’s game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs was shaping up to be a family gathering of sorts.

Taylor Swift was rumored to be bringing her parents to the game to meet the family of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, whom she has been dating for some time now. The pre-Thanksgiving gathering was going to be the first time the two families had all been together.

Unfortunately for all the Swifties and “Traylor” fans excited to see those shots of the suite during Monday Night Football, that meeting is not happening now. Swift will instead be performing a make-up show in Brazil after Saturday’s show was forced to be postponed due to extreme heat .

Swift has attended several Chiefs games this season, most recently on Oct. 22 in Kansas City .

During the Chiefs’ bye week last week, Kelce flew down to Argentina to see Swift perform in her “Eras Tour.” He watched the concert from the VIP area with Swift’s dad.

On Friday night, a fan died at the show in Rio de Janeiro . Ana Clara Benevides Machado, 23, was at the concert was attended by paramedics after feeling unwell. She was taken to the stadium’s first aid center, then to a hospital, where she died an hour later, according to the show’s organizers, Time4Fun.

A cause of death has not been released, but media reported that fans were not allowed to take water into the stadium despite soaring temperatures.

Swift postponed her Saturday show, writing on Instagram “The safety and well-being of my fans, fellow performers, and crew has to and always will come first.”

“There’s very little information I have other than the fact that she was so incredibly beautiful and far too young,” the singer wrote of the young woman.

Earlier this season, Eagles Pro Bowler Darius Slay had said he hoped Swift would stay home for their future matchup with the Chiefs.

“She might not miss a game this year,” he said on the “Big Game Slay” podcast . “And it looks like they’re 2-0 with her. If we play her - I know we play them home - Taylor, do not come to the game.

“Do. Not. Come. To. The. Game,” he repeated. “Cause you seem to bring the energy of winning. So, do not come to that game.”

A Philadelphia radio station announced last week that it would not play any of Swift’s music until after the game.

Football fans should still have plenty of interest in Monday night’s game, being a rematch of last year’s Super Bowl and all.
