Wichita Falls community celebrates Taco Fest 2024

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - Taco Fest also got underway this weekend, and lots of people showed up to get a little taste of what went on.

With over 20 food trucks, this giant event is put on by the Zavala Hispanic Initiative, a non-profit that aims to help out the Hispanic community by providing I like educational and leadership opportunities. Taco Fest has become a large fundraiser, inviting people from all over the community and different backgrounds to come in and enjoy.

"We're just having fun you know big old party Taco fest that that's what it's about we're trying to make sure that you know Wichita Fall knows that the Hispanic community here is doing something you know for Hispanic heritage much especially and for our students in our community." Executive Director for Zavala Esly Pimentel said.

There were also awards for different things, for instance, a mayor's choice award where the mayor's favorite taco gets special recognition.
