CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is keeping the lights on for visitors as the weather turns colder, more than 1.5 million of them.

The sixth annual Wild Winter Lights presented by NOPEC kicks off on Nov. 12, bringing back hundreds of displays through holiday-themed areas such as the Enchanted Forest, Swan Lake, Candy Lane and Polar Pathway.

"This year, guests will experience over a dozen walk-through displays, including larger-than-life holiday favorites," Kelly Manderfield, Cleveland Metroparks chief marketing officer, said in a statement. "Wild Winter Lights continues to be a timeless holiday tradition and we are grateful to our community partners who help bring the holidays to life at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo."

Among the highlights in this year's event are a musical light show featuring a 50-foot tree, carousel rides, costumed characters and model train displays. Guests also can purchase a ticket for the holiday-themed Cleveland Metroparks Railroad presented by Whistle Express Car Wash. Holiday treat offerings include Jack Frost Donuts, Kernels by Chrissie and hot chocolate.

Guests can take photos with Santa Claus at Santa's North Pole Lodge presented by CrossCountry Mortgage.

Visitors have the option of walking through the displays or, on select dates, staying in their vehicles for the Wild Winter Lights Drive-Through.

Wild Winter Lights is from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on select dates beginning Nov. 12 and continuing through Dec. 30. Tickets are limited and advance online reservations are strongly encouraged.

Tickets purchased in advance are $21 for members and $24 for non-members. A four-pack is $63 for members and $73 for non-members. Children under 2 years old are admitted free. Tickets for the drive-through must be purchased in advance and are $45 per vehicle for Zoo members and $55 per vehicle for non-members.
