Williamsburg’s National Night Out event aims to foster stronger police-community ties

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) — The City of Williamsburg wants resident to attend the 2024 National Night Out event on Tuesday, Oct. 1

National Night Out (NNO) is an annual event that promotes police and community partnerships. During the event, members of local law enforcement agencies will be present to meet with citizens.

"The city's National Night Out Committee puts together a fantastic event for the community year after year," Community Resource Officer Herb Williams said. "We cannot wait for our neighbors to see what we have planned for this year's NNO on Oct. 1"

Williamsburg won a National Night Out Award for Outstanding Participation after drawing a crowd of 500 last year.

The event takes place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Community Building, 401 N. Boundary Street.
