Wilson Odobert set for period out with hamstring injury, Yves Bissouma in contention to return

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou says Wilson Odobert is set for a spell on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury during Wednesday's victory over Coventry City .

Postecoglou was unable to give a timeframe on Odobert's return but said the injury "doesn't look good" and he would be out for "the next period".

Yves Bissouma , meanwhile, is in contention to return for Saturday's visit of Brentford after missing his side's last two with a groin problem. The midfielder trained on Friday, his first full session back since being sidelined.

Timo Werner was also substituted against Coventry, being replaced in the 74th minute after going down with apparent discomfort, but Postecoglou said the winger was now fine.

"Wilson doesn't look good, still waiting for it to settle down and get more information but he will definitely be out for the next period," Postecoglou said.

"Bissouma trained today so he should be available tomorrow. Timo is okay."

Odobert was forced off after just 18 minutes during Tottenham's midweek Carabao Cup victory, with the Spurs head coach initially describing the injury as "fairly significant".

The 19-year-old winger joined Spurs from Burnley this summer for an initial £25million plus £5million in potential add-ons. Wednesday's outing against Coventry was just his fourth appearance for the club since his summer move.

Forward Richarlison also remains sidelined after picking up an injury ahead of the trip to Newcastle United at the start of the month, and Postecoglou said the Brazil international was not yet close to a return.

"He is a far way off," Postecoglou explained. "He has still not trained with the first team."
