Wiltshire's first 'infinity' ski slope to open

A county's first 'infinity' ski slope is set to open.

Owned by former BBC Dragon's Den member and Moonpig greetings card company founder Nick Jenkins, South Wilts Ski Club at Bapton Manor Farm in the Wylye Valley will open later.

The site, near Warminster, will includes a 5.5m-tall ski slope simulator which will provide the constant experience of going downhill for up to eight visitors at a time.

Mr Jenkins, a keen skier, said he created the facility after visiting a similar venue in London.

"I tried the Skieasy infinity slope in London myself and loved it, but it was always too busy to book and it was a 90-minute drive.

"I wondered if I could bring the concept to Wiltshire so in June last year, I started looking for a suitable building to base it in and now we are opening," he added.

One of four open to the public in the UK, the facility will offer ski enthusiasts an opportunity to learn, refine their technique, or build slope fitness.

The slope can be adjusted to provide different angles and speeds so it can be used by beginners as well as advanced skiers.
