Win for Bearcats men’s and women’s basketball
VESTAL, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – The Binghamton men's basketball team was back in action tonight for their regular season home opener against the Oneonta Red Dragons. Coming off a big loss a few days ago to the Penn State Nittany Lions, the team was looking to rebound against the D-III program and come away with a big win heading into Miami on Sunday.
The Bearcats started hot and didn't look back. They took home the win against Oneonta, 82-63.
Next, they will take on Miami on Sunday. Coach Levell Sanders spoke on how he thought tonight's game prepared them for what's to come next.
"I'm pretty sure it's going to be some kind of pressure that we're going to have to handle," said Sanders. "I think offensive execution is something that I thought we did a pretty good job on today."
The women's team was also in action against a tough Akron Zips team.
It was a very back-and-forth game throughout, but down the stretch, the Bearcats went on a run and won 66-50. Their next matchup is Saturday on the road against St. Bonaventure University.
