Bridget Curtis of Wales is set to appear in court next on Nov. 22

A 70-year-old woman has admitted to dangerous driving, causing the death of an eight-month-old baby while the child was sitting in a stroller outside of a hospital.

On Friday, Sept. 20, Bridget Curtis appeared in Swansea Crown Court in Wales, where she pleaded guilty to causing the death of infant Mabli Cariad Hall outside Withybush Hospital in June 2023, according to multiple UK outlets including the BBC , The Guardian and The Independent . The BBC reports that she pleaded guilty.

As the Dyfed-Powys Police noted in a 2023 news release , the baby died in Bristol Children's Hospital on June 25, four days after a "collision involving a car and pedestrians." After being struck, the child was initially airlifted to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff before being transferred to the children's hospital where she died, per The Guardian.

Hall died of traumatic brain injuries after the white BMW stuck her by the Withybush Hospital's front entrance in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, per The Guardian and The Independent.

Curtis is due in court next on Nov. 22, the outlets report.

The Dyfed-Powys Police and Swansea Crown Court did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for additional information on Friday.

According to the BBC, Curtis was released on unconditional bail by Judge Geraint Walters before her sentencing. He also reportedly said psychiatric and pre-sentence reports would happen ahead of her next court date and also disqualified her from driving.

"You will probably have understood already that the granting of bail and the asking of reports can't carry any indication of the sentence that could be passed upon you," Walters said, per the Guardian. "You can have your bail until the day of sentence."

Curtis' attorney John Dye told the court that his client was "absolutely devastated to be here," surrendered her license after being charged in July and had a clean driving record with no previous convictions, per the BBC.

According to the outlet, Hall's mother Gwen and father Rob — the latter of whom was also injured when his child was hit last year — were both present at the court alongside other family members. Gwen reportedly held a soft toy during the hearing.

In a statement shared by the Dyfed-Powys Police last year, the parents said they were "absolutely heartbroken by the death of our beautiful baby girl Mabli."

"She was adored by us and her five siblings and brought us so much joy in her short life," they said. "We will always remember Mabli's beautiful little smile and cherish the time we had with her."

"We would like to thank everyone who tried to help us at such a tragic time; the people who were there when it happened, the emergency services who came to our aid and the amazing staff at Withybush, the Heath in Cardiff and Bristol Children's Hospital," the family continued at the time. "Their strength and support allowed us to focus on Mabli."
