A woman headed to a wedding was arrested with nearly 14 pounds of fentanyl pills, authorities reported.

Ashley Rayanna Garcia is charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.

According to the criminal complaint, a DPS trooper stopped a car on Oct. 23 on I-40 in Oldham County for following too closely and having no seatbelt

The driver denied consent to search the vehicle.

Another trooper brought in a K-9 that alerted on the vehicle which gave them probable cause to search.

DPS said troopers found seven plastic baggies containing fentanyl pills which weighed 13.88 pounds.

Garcia said she was going from Phoenix to Nashville for a wedding and was supposed to deliver the drugs while she was there.

She claimed ownership of the fentanyl and said the driver and other female passenger were not involved.
