Woman held after victim attacked, stomped in face

Waco, Tx ( FOX 44 ) – A 37-year-old woman is being held after another woman was assaulted, stomped on her face and threatened with a hatchet.

Erica Tiffany Bristol was booked into the McLennan County Jail after Waco police had responded to the incident early Thursday afternoon.

An arrest affidavit stated that Waco police officers were called to an assault in progress at North 13th Street and Jefferson Avenue at 1:45 p.m. Thursday.

There they learned that a 48-year-old woman had been pulled by the hair, thrown to the ground and was stomped on the left side of the face. The affidavit stated that a witness told officers a woman had grabbed a black and orange hatchet with blue tape on it and stood over the victim holding it as if to swing at her before it was taken from her by a man who was present.

Bristol remained in the McLennan County Jail Friday afternoon held on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
