Work continues at twice flood hit holiday park

A holiday park which was flooded twice this year said £700,000 of work was continuing on the site. Billing Aquadrome in Northampton said it was dredging the lakes and rivers around the park as part of the work. It was flooded in September and January this year, leading to residents being evacuated. In a post on social media, the park said it was working with West Northamptonshire Council and the Environment Agency "to manage the water flow around the park and clearing all areas on and off park to give us the best possible position [on flooding]". The spokesperson also said it had plans for the neighbouring park, Cogenhoe Mill, but was "just waiting to hear on what we are permitted to do". Both holiday parks were taken over by Meadow Bay Villages earlier this year after entering administration in 2023. The park closed for holidays earlier this month - due to reopen in April 2025 - but it remains open for day visitors and people who live on site.
