World premiere of The Great Gatsby Ballet tours to Evansville this spring

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Event organizers say the world premiere of The Great Gatsby Ballet is coming to Old National Events Plaza on April 12, 2025, for one night only.

Organizers say this debut is part of the World Ballet Company's worldwide tour next year. The World Ballet Company is celebrated for showcasing a multinational cast of 40 professional dancers, a creative team, hand-crafted costumes and "groundbreaking" sets. The Great Gatsby Ballet represents the next generation of their incredible performances.

According to Old National Events Plaza, the people involved with this event include renowned choreographer Ilya Zhivoy, costume designer Sonya Vartanyan, LA-based film and TV composer Anna Drubich makes her ballet debut with a score that embraces the sounds of the Jazz Age.

"The World Ballet Company presents ballets in over 280 performing arts centers in the United States, 'creating ballet audiences of tomorrow'. "We prove that ballet is not boring; it is fun and accessible," Co-Producer, Sasha Gorskaya told Spotlightnews.com. "We believe ballet is for everyone and have made it our mission to build a more vibrant and expansive landscape for ballet by offering audiences, many of whom have never experienced ballet, a chance to discover and enjoy the stories, music, and artistry," she continued.

The Great Gatsby Ballet will be on April 12, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. in the Old National Events Plaza. Tickets start at $41.00 plus applicable fees and tax. Tickets are available either online or at the Old National Events Plaza Box Office.
