World-class concert pianist to play recital benefit in South Jersey

On Sunday, Nov. 24, at 7:30 p.m., Dr. Katherine Wenyi Xiong, a world-class concert pianist, will play a recital of classical and seasonal music at South Vineland United Methodist Church to benefit Help & Hope Ministries , a food pantry serving Cumberland County. Attendees are encouraged to donate cereal, soup, pasta, rice, canned vegetables and clothing items like hats, scarves, and mittens. This is a free event. Attendees of the recital can also donate directly to Help & Hope. Dr. Katherine Wenyi Xiong is a distinguished soloist, collaborative pianist, chamber musician, and adjudicator. She has been appointed to Adjunct Faculty in Piano Performance at New York University. She is also the Artistic Director for the Bay Area Piano Competition and the adjudicator for the Charleston International Music Competition. Throughout her career, Wenyi has achieved notable success in numerous international competitions including prizes from the 5th Finland International Piano Competition and the 8th ENKOR International Piano Competition. She also won the 5th Ann Arbor Camerata Concerto Competition at the University of Michigan, the Yamaha Asian Music Scholarship Competition, the World Chinese Piano Competition, the Director's Distinguished Award at the Pennsylvania State University, and the 37th Annual Graduate Exhibition at the Pennsylvania State University.
