The American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special took place on Sunday at the L.A. Center Studios in Los Angeles - with stars arriving in their most glamorous looks.

However, Raye and Sophia Culpo were among the stars who opted for looks that failed to impressed on the fashion front.

Raye, who performed at the special, wore an unusually casual look for a red carpet - choosing a baggy dark green sweater and a mint button up mini skirt.

Raye completed the dressed down look with black mules, red lipstick and glasses, paired with statement earrings.

Meanwhile, Sophia - who is the sister of Olivia Culpo - chose an outdated sequin blazer dress that didn't stand out on the red carpet.

Raye performed in a pink satin slip - singing the 1966 song by James Brown - It's A Man's Man's World.

Raye, who hails from London, first hit radio stations with her song The Line, but became a household name in 2022 with the song Escapism.

Meanwhile Sophia, 27, who is the younger sister of Olivia Culpo, chose a black sequin blazer that she wore with matching heels - a look that failed to stand out.

Sophia appeared in the reality series The Culpo Series with Olivia and their sister Aurora.

She also had a guest appearance on one episode of Only Murders in the Building in 2023.

Social media star Indi Star also missed the mark on the red carpet - wearing an unusually casual look.

Indi, who is also an actress and dancer, wore a brown hued blouse with a blue maxi shirt and tennis shoes - a surprising look for a glamorous night in Hollywood.

Indi wore her locks in waves around her, opting for minimal makeup and jewelry.

Ajani Scott and Kailyn Smith both opted to flash the flesh on the red carpet.

Ajani's frock featured a plunging neckline and thigh-grazing skirt while Kailyn's had massive cut0out details along her entire torso.

Country star Kane Brown had a rare fashion misstep at the American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special.

Kane wore a fitted taupe hued ombre cardigan that he styled tucked into white trousers.

Beneath the cardigan, the artist skipped an undershirt - flashing his tatted chest.

He added a striking belt and cream hued boots to round out his eye-catching look.

Backstreet Boys star AJ McLean looked unrecognizable on the red carpet, wearing a polka dot sequin patterned top with black trousers and silver boots.

He added bold white and yellow frame sunglasses for the evening awards show.
