Would Kirk Herbstreit Take Quinn Ewers Over Carson Beck in 2025 NFL Draft?
No. 1 Texas will host No. 5 Georgia in one of the most anticipated college football games of the 2024 season on Oct. 19.
Many fans are looking forward to this particular game because the outcome will have significant SEC title and College Football Playoff implications. According to ESPN , the Longhorns enter the massive conference matchup as the 4.5-point favorite over the Bulldogs as of Friday afternoon.
Matchups of this nature typically always include several intriguing storylines. For NFL Draft fans, two of the top quarterback prospects will be on the field at the same time in Quinn Ewers and Carson Beck. The individual performances of each on Saturday will likely impact their draft stock for the 2025 NFL Draft.
ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit spoke with the media in Austin on Friday and discussed whether he would take Ewers or Beck first in the upcoming draft.
"I would probably give the nod to Quinn," Herbstreit said. "I just think that he's played enough football and he's been in Sark's system that is a little more turnkey to the NFL."
Herbstreit explained the decision as a tough one as Ewers and Beck are both talented enough to have great professional careers, but at this moment in time he believes Steve Sarkisian's system benefits Ewers enough to give him the edge.
The Texas-Georgia kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT and dozens of NFL personnel are expected to be in attendance.
