WYOMING — Wyoming Hose Company No. 2, located on Third Street in Wyoming, held a groundbreaking ceremony Friday, May 1 to celebrate the construction of a new facility. The fire station has been in the planning stages for close to 20 years.

The drive for the new facility was led by borough fire company president Tony Yurek and the board of directors and will soon be the new home for the hose company. Timing on the facility could not have been better as membership in the organization is slowly and consistently growing.

The facility will incorporate a new catering hall, truck bay and a bar area. The catering hall will be available to the community for use and also doubles as an emergency evacuation site for the high rise apartments in the local community.

The truck bay will have two bays with several meeting rooms attached. The new bar area will have an incorporated game room for members and patrons. The facility has a projected completion date of November 2015.
