Diana Vickers put on a showstopping display on Monday as she channeled Gwyneth Paltrow 's Oscar-winning moment in a sweeping pink gown at the press screening for her new play, I Wish You Well - inspired by the Hollywood star.

The former X Factor contestant, 33, stars as the Goop founder in a musical which charts the 51-year-old's remarkable court battle following a skiing accident in 2016.

Paltrow was sued by retired optometrist Terry Sanderson for $300,000 after the pair collided on the slopes in Utah , but the megastar countersued for $1 and the court ruled in her favour last year.

And Diana was quite the vision as she posed in her gorgeous bubblegum satin gown at the glitzy event at London's Criterion Theatre - where the play will be running until October 12.

The singer oozed confidence as she took snaps on the pink carpet in her Atu Body Couture dress which featured a low back and a flowing train.

Diana accessorirsed her look with a sparkling choker by Opuline, while her blonde locks were worn in a chic bun.

The Once hitmaker looked in great spirits as she posed this way and that before heading inside for a champagne reception.

There, she posed for fun snaps with co-stars Marc Antolin (Terry), Tori Allen Martin (Kristin) and Idriss Kargbo (Judge Jude).

The gala night also saw the show's choreographer and former Strictly star Arlene Phillips in attendance, with the dancer seen posing with the cast and crew.

Diana's pink carpet look is reminiscent of Gwyneth's famous pink taffeta gown by Ralph Lauren, which she notoriously wore while giving a tearful speech while accepting the 1999 Best Actress gong for her role in Shakespeare In Love.

The name of the new play was inspired by Gwyneth's decision to tap retired optometrist Terry Sanderson on the shoulder and say 'I wish you well' after beating his ski crash lawsuit.

Those four words went on to be branded the most gracious 'f*** you' in US legal history, sparking plenty of reaction on social media.

It comes after Diana revealed the unique preparation she does for her performances as the show's lead.

The 2008 X-Factor semi-finalist told The Standard : 'I have a vagina candle on the stage that sometimes I'll just sniff into and think "right!"

'Before I go on every night I'm behind these doors and I breathe and I say to myself "I am Gwyneth Paltrow. I am an icon."'

Though Paltrow made her name on the silver screen in the 1990s and 2000s, she remade herself as a wellness guru and business owner in a midlife career change.

Her most eye-catching product for the Goop brand was a scented candle titled, 'This Smells Like My Vagina' and priced at $75.

According to the product's description: 'This candle started as a joke between perfumer Douglas Little and GP—the two were working on a fragrance, and she blurted out, "Uhhh..this smells like a vagina"—but evolved into a funny, gorgeous, sexy, and beautifully unexpected scent.

'(That turned out to be perfect as a candle—we did a test run at an In goop Health, and it sold out within hours.)

'It's a blend of geranium, citrusy bergamot, and cedar absolutes juxtaposed with Damask rose and ambrette seed that puts us in mind of fantasy, seduction, and a sophisticated warmth.'

More usual preparation for Vickers to channel the star has included binging Paltrow's back catalogue of movies and watching clips of the trial, which was streamed live in March 2023, on TikTok.
