— Five minutes before the Yankees busses were scheduled to leave T-Mobile Park and head to the Sea-Tac airport, Juan Soto hobbled from the trainer's room to his locker. His left knee was swollen and sore, but the second most-important Yankees player next to the captain thinks he escaped serious injury. Soto crashing into the concrete base of a foul-territory wall while making a great catch in the seventh inning of the Mariners' 2-1 victory . "It feels pretty good," Soto said before hustling to catch the team bus. "Not bad at all. We did some treatment. The ice made it a little stiff, but it's pretty good."RESTORING THE GLORY Soto was feeling relief because he was in a lot of pain for a few minutes after his collision. "I was really worried," Soto said. "It was straight onto the concrete." Soto got himself up right away and whipped a throw back to the infield to make sure Randy Arozarena didn't tag up from second and score, but that decision added to his fear. "When I threw the ball, there was really a lot of pain in my kneecap," Soto said. Soto dropped to the ground and laid there while Yankees manager Aaron Boone, center fielder Aaron Judge and trainers rushed to the right-field foul line. After sitting for a couple minutes, Soto started to feel better, so he stood up to see how that affected his knee. "I felt fine," he said. Soto ended up finishing the game, but he spent almost an hour in the trainer's room after the Yankees loss and he's scheduled get imaging before the club opens a weekend series in Oakland on Friday night. "Yeah, we're going to get some X-rays and make sure everything's very good," Soto said. Soto thinks that he survived this scare with just a bone bruise. He's hoping that he doesn't miss any games, but he's questionable for Friday's game. "We will see how I wake up and see if the swelling is down," Soto said. "It's a bruise because I hit it off the wall, literally straight up in the concrete. It definitely feels better, but when I'm running and I try to swing I feel it a little bit."
