8-year-old dies of injuries after being struck by vehicle in central Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — An 8-year-old child died of his injuries after he was struck by a vehicle near a school Wednesday in central Bakersfield, police said.
The Bakersfield Police Department said the child died of his injuries while he was being treated at Valley Children's Hospital.
Ex-BPD officer pleads no contest to vehicular manslaughter
The 8-year-old was struck by a vehicle Wednesday at around 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of Bank Street and Holtby Road near Roosevelt Elementary School. The boy suffered major injuries by a vehicle as he was walking in an unmarked crosswalk, police said.
