17-year-old Strongsville boy killed in crash

COLUMBIA TWP. , Ohio (WJW) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed a 17-year-old boy from Strongsville .

The crash happened around 11 p.m. Sunday on West River Road south of Sprague Road in Columbia Township .

Husband and wife hit same deer just seconds apart

Investigators said the teen's car was traveling north on West River Road. While going around a curve, it appears he went off the right side of the road, hit a guard rail, and then went down an embankment, a news release from OSHP said.

The 17-year-old was rushed to Southwest General Health Center where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators said he was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The teen was a senior at Strongsville City Schools, according to the district.

The district says counselors will be on hand for students.

Six people died in a road accident near the western German town of Ochtrup in the early hours of Sunday, police in the town near the Dutch border reported.
