37-year-old woman riding her bike struck and killed in Glynn Co.
BRUNSWICK, Ga. (WSAV) – A fatal crash on Friday has claimed the life of a 37-year-old-woman, the Georgia State patrol (GSP) said.
The crash, which involved a bicycle and a pick-up truck, happened on Friday, just after 4 p.m. on US-17 near Belle Point Parkway in Glynn County.
GSP says both were traveling northbound in the right lane of US-17 when the front of the truck struck the bicycle, and the bicyclist, Amanda Jorgensen from Brunswick, died on scene.
The driver of the truck, Isrrael Alonzo Garcia from Brunswick, left the scene but was able to be located, according to GSP.
Garcia was charged with Vehicular Homicide (1st degree), DUI, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, along with other traffic charges.
This crash is currently under investigation by the GSP's Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team.
