The event is being held in Zendaya's hometown where she attended Oakland School for the Arts. The acclaimed actress is known to give back to her community. In February, she donated $100,000 to an East Bay theater.
The Zendaya competition is not the first celebrity-look-alike contest to be held in the Bay Area. Earlier this month , a contest in San Francisco's Dolores Park was held to see who resembles actor Dev Patel the most. Hundreds of spectators reportedly attended the event.
In New York City, a similar contest was held for actor Timothée Chalamet , and the event drew thousands of contestants and spectators. Chalamet even made an appearance himself.
