Zoe Saldana put on a fashion-forward display on Wednesday evening as she stepped out in New York City .

The 46-year-old actress — who attended the ACLU Bill of Rights Awards this week — was clad in a dark gray pantsuit, striped shirt, and matching back tie.

The Avatar star fastened one of the double-breasted blazer's buttons and rounded out the ensemble with pointy black heels with a gold hardware accent at the toe.

The mom-of-three, who is married to Italian filmmaker Marco Perego , wore her chocolate-brown locks in a side part and spiral curls that tumbled over one side of her shoulder.

She accessorized with subtle gold earrings and looked typically beautiful in a a full face of makeup.

Saldana flashed her megawatt smile as she waved to adoring fans outside The Late Show with Stephen Colbert studio.

She has been busy promoting her film Emilia Perez, which was released on November 1 and co-stars Selena Gomez.

Zoe takes on the role of Rita in the Spanish language film, while Selena portrays the character Jessi Del Monte.

The movie is set in Mexico and tells the story of a lawyer who receives 'an unexpected offer to help a feared cartel boss retire from his business and disappear forever by becoming the woman he's always dreamed of being,' according to an IMDb synopsis.

It won the Jury Prize during the 77th Cannes Film Festival in May, and the female ensemble won the Best Actress award.

Zoe is one of several A-list entertainers who covers the latest copy of Vanity Fair , the publication's 31st annual Hollywood Issue.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, the Crossroads actress wrote in a caption, 'Thank you Vanity Fair for this honor. Bucket list item .'

The post has so far racked up more than 100,000 likes from a chunk of the performer's 11 million followers.

About what drew her to the Jacques Audiard-directed drama — which has a musical element — she told the magazine 'it just felt provocative, audacious, original, and operatic.'

Zoe, who was raised in New York and the Dominican Republic, was also asked what it was like to speak Spanish on the silver screen.

'If you live a day in the life of my crazy circus of a household, English is probably a language that we use when the kids are out of school,' she explained.

She added: 'When the kids are in school, everybody goes back to their child language, and the language that was first spoken to me — that was sung to me, that I received love in — was Spanish. I do become a different person. I use different tones in my voice when I speak Spanish. So it felt wonderful. It felt like going home.'

The star and her husband share twins Cy and Bowie, nine, and Zen, seven.
