"There is no doubt in my mind that there would be at least one fatality in this crash if it was not for the quick actions and bravery of Officer Griffiths in removing the victim from the burning car," the Harwich Police Chief said.

The perennially popular Ford F-150 will soon need to fend off competition from within the family. Ford announced a Super Duty version of the current-generation Ranger that will rival its bigger sibling in terms of towing capacity when it goes on sale in select global markets in 2026. Feedback from fleet customers helped shape the Ranger Super Duty, and the model will be aimed at folks who genuinely need a rugged, no-nonsense truck.

Just days after announcing a civil fine against Ford for moving too slowly on a recall, the U.S. government unveiled two investigations into recalls that may not have worked or covered enough vehicles. In April Ford recalled certain 2021 through 2024 Bronco Sports and 2022 through 2023 Mavericks were recalled because they can suddenly lose power. There have been five complaints from owners whose vehicles lost power after getting the recall fix, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in a document posted Monday.

One of the most successful stocks over the last few years is Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA). The company has defied the odds by becoming one of the few automakers to become a consistently profitable business. Chinese tech giant Baidu said on Tuesday that it has brought down the production cost of its Apollo RT6 self-driving vehicle to 250,000 yuan (US$34,525) per unit, marking a significant step towards making autonomous driving more accessible in China. Speaking at a trade event in Wuhan, capital of central Hubei province, Baidu co-founder, chairman and chief executive Robin Li Yanhong said the RT6 is now the world's only mass-produced Level-4 autonomous (L4) driving vehicle, highlighting the compan

Over a New Mexico training range named the Hornet, two Osprey aircraft speed 100 feet off the ground, banking hard over valleys and hills as they close in on a dusty landing zone. A flight engineer in the back braces a .50-caliber machine gun over the edge of the Osprey's open ramp as desert shrubbery blurs past. The aircraft's joints shift and rattle, and there is little steady to hold on to until the Osprey touches down with a bump, flooding seats with rust-colored dust.

With the pivot to electric power, debates have raged for years around all kinds of aspects of electric vehicle ownership: how much range do you need? How long should it take to charge? How much should it cost? But one argument has raged fiercer than the rest: what should an electric vehicle sound like? Now, the owner of an EV-swapped Beetle has waded into the argument and attempted to settle it once and for all.

The next time your truck buddy tells you that you need a full-size pickup to tow a modest camper, you'll have a fresh arrow in your quiver: Ford is bolting together a Ranger Super Duty for overseas markets where a full-size pickup simply doesn't make sense, and this appears to be our first look at a rolling prototype. Let's begin with the fundamentals: A hard-working truck starts with a robust chassis, and this example appears to have borrowed quite a bit from the Ranger Raptor, which was beefed up to handle the shenanigans in which its owners are more inclined to engage. Carryovers visible here include the independent front suspension and some additional underbody (and perhaps bumper?) protection.
