Study ranks best cities in U.S.; where does St. Louis stand?

ST. LOUIS – A survey from a market research consulting firm finds St. Louis to be the third-best city in the Midwest, behind Minneapolis and Chicago. According to the same survey , St. Louis ranked as the 25th-best city in the United States.

The survey, created by market research consulting company Resonance , noted St. Louis as "one of America's music capitals" and an "energetic crossroads of the nation."

The city's highlighted rankings included St. Louis as 9th for most "Facebook check-ins" and 17th for the Convention Center, noting the expansion of the America's Center Convention Complex.

St. Louis was also ranked 19th for best nightlife and mentioned Laclede's Landing, City Foundry, and the CityPark Stadium as city highlights for food and entertainment.

The Brickline Greenway is also mentioned for connecting city parks, and Resonance says it pays tribute to the 20,000 residents in the Black community of Mill Creek Valley who were forced from their homes in 1959 for the construction of I-64.

St. Louis was ranked higher on the list than cities such as San Jose, California, and Honolulu, Hawaii.

Resonance, the brand behind the survey and "World's Best Cities" rankings, surveys each city based on a specific methodology the brand calls "Place Power Score." The methodology combines resident perspectives on livability, lovability, and prosperity.

Resonance claims itself as a leading advisor in tourism, real estate and economic development.
