YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, the world lost a bright light with the passing of Raynel "RayRay" Scott of Youngstown, Ohio at the young age of 42.

She was born on December 5, 1981 to Zakerice E. Scott and Maria Flores.

Raynel lived a life full of passion, drive and determination.

She was a proud graduate of Chaney High Schoo l where she excelled academically and socially.

After graduating in 1999, she pursued a career in modeling and in the aviation industry. With her exceptional work ethic and dedication, Raynel made a lasting impact on all those she encountered.

Despite the many test and trials in her life, she remained resilient in her love for God, faith and unwavering pursuit of happiness. Her positivity and concern for helping others overpowered her physical pain. She never lost her sense of humor, her infectious smile, her quit wit, her love for being with family, or her love for adventure. Whether she was jet-setting across the country or exploring her own backyard, Raynel lived!

Although she had no children, Raynel was a beloved aunt, sister and friend to many. She is survived by her mother, Maria Flores-Scott; sisters, Naticia N. Flores, Maria Scott-Waterhouse and Zakericia Scott; brothers, Zakerice E. Scott, Jr. and DeAndrea Scott; nieces, Laterika Jackson, Shalea Scott and Jordyn Scott; nephews, Qi'twan Jackson, LJ Waterhouse and Xander Waterhouse; great-nephews, Da'Real Lee and Isiah Jackson and a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Zakerice E. Scott, Sr.; her brother, Zakerice Scott; paternal grandparents, Alexander and Marie Scott; maternal grandparents, Susie Strickland/Delores Flores and cousin, Demar Flores.

Raynel leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, hard work and love. She walked by faith and lived by example always ready to meet her Lord. She will forever be remembered and cherished as she rests peacefully.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Rising Star Baptist Church, 2943 Wardle Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio, with visitation from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.
