3 children hurt in crash where none were safely restrained: OSHP
HURON COUNTY , Ohio (WJW) — A 4-year-old was flown to a hospital and two other young children were hurt after a crash Friday afternoon in New Haven Township.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened on Boughtonville Road near Walnut Road around 2:50 p.m. Friday.
A preliminary investigation revealed that 40-year-old Azucena Cuevas was driving west on Boughtonville Road when she went off the left side of the road, hitting a ditch and a guardrail.
Three children ranging from one to four years old were in the car at the time, and none of them were secured in child safety seat restraints, a report from OSHP said.
A one and three-year-old boy sustained possible injuries and were treated at the scene, the report stated. A four-year-old girl sustained serious injuries and was flown by Medflight to University Hospitals.

Cuevas was wearing her seatbelt and she also sustained possible injuries. She was transported by North Central EMS to Mercy Health in Willard.
The crash remains under investigation.
