5 children injured in St. Peterburg school bus crash, police say

Five children on a school bus headed to Azalea Middle School Monday morning were injured after the bus collided with a Jeep SUV, St. Petersburg police said. Officers responded to the scene of the crash at the intersection of 27th Avenue South and 37th Street South, according to a news release from the agency that was sent out shortly after 10 a.m. Monday. All 15 passengers on the bus were students at Azalea Middle. Five children were taken to Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital with minor injuries, police said. The driver of the Jeep SUV was also taken to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital. The investigation is still ongoing, police said.
