K.Smith5 hr ago
OKLAHOMA CITY (KSWO) - April 19, 1995 is a day which sets heavy in the hearts of many Oklahomans. 168 lives were lost in the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City and in 158 days it will have been nearly been 30 years since the devastating Oklahoma City Bombing. In partnership with the Oklahoma City National Memorial Museum every night KSWO is counting down those days by remembering those who lost their lives during the tragedy . Tonight, on Day 12 we remember Calvin Battle. The 62-year-old Battle and his wife Peola were at the the social security office of the Murrah Building to apply for disability. Calvin's family say he was a quiet man who accepted everyone he met. We also honor those who survived including Susan Birtchfield, Mindy Stiles Blackman, Sergeant Arlene Blanchard of the U.S Army, and David O Blankenship. We also thank those changed forever, including the Bartlesville Police Department and the Beaver Fire Department.
