C.Wright2 hr ago
LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - April 19, 1995 is a day which sets heavy in the hearts of many Oklahomans. 168 lives were lost in the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City and in 156 days it will have been nearly 30 years since the devastating Oklahoma City Bombing.

In partnership with the Oklahoma City National Memorial Museum every night KSWO is counting down those days by remembering those who lost their lives during the tragedy.

Tonight, on Day 12 we remember Peola Battle.

The 51-year-old Battle and her husband Calvin were at the the social security office of the Murrah Building to apply for his disability.

One of her daughters described her mother as a "Christian lady" who along with her dad raised five daughters.

Battle was known as a person "who never met a stranger," and she sewed until the sun came up and down and came up again.

We also honor those who survived including Delena Blocker, Andrei Bocharov, Laura K Bode, Msg William H Bonebreak U.S. Army.

We also thank those changed forever, including the Bernalillo Fire Department (NM) and the Bethany Fire Department.
