CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – We start off cold and rainy this morning as rain moves in from the west. Temperatures have settled in the low to mid-40s around uptown with mountain counties dipping into the mid-30s. This will allow for a few spots of sleet and ice to mix in with the rainfall for some of our extremely higher elevations.

to see our latest Pinpoint Weather forecast! Look for rain to start in the mountains and track east through uptown and points east of the Queen City. Showers will be heavy at times, mainly impacting the 8 to 9 AM hours. A few more pockets of heavy rain will be possible through lunch time with rain dissipating later this evening.

Highs will be limited to the upper 40s and low 50s as gusty winds flow out of the east-northeast. Look to see rainfall amounts between half an inch to an inch as we stay breezy through this evening and lows fall into the low 40s overnight.

Friday will rebound nicely when it comes to temperatures as we peak near normal to end the work week. Highs will settle in the mid-60s before overnight lows fall into the low 40s heading into the weekend.

Saturday & Sunday will be sunny and dry with upper 60s on tap. We'll keep the sunshine coming early next week with 70s returning on Monday. Our next chance of rain doesn't move in until late Tuesday into Wednesday.

Today: Chilly, Breezy, & Wet. High: 52.

Tonight: Cloudy & Chilly With Rain Tapering Off. Low: 42.
