FORECAST: Rain expected to pick up throughout the day

FORECAST:

The rain has started and will be with us for the majority of the day. Intensity even picks up by midday through the early afternoon.

Totals could exceed 1 inch in spots, but no flooding concerns are expected.

Temperatures are expected to lock down into the 40s all day, with just a few neighborhoods getting close to 50 degrees this afternoon.

Drier weather returns tonight, and we'll keep that through the weekend. Temps recover back to the 60s on Friday, and we'll be near 70 this weekend.

Potential Tropical Cyclone 19 formed in the Caribbean on Wednesday afternoon and is expected to strengthen into Tropical Storm Sara on Thursday. Hurricane Watches have been posted for parts of Honduras with Tropical Storm Watches in northern Nicaragua. The NHC says Potential Tropical Cyclone 19 will continue to move westward toward the western Caribbean Sea, and Jamaica should see showers and thunderstorms associated with the system throughout the next day.

There is a strong consensus among the various computer forecast models that the tropical disturbance near Jamaica will organize into a tropical depression before the end of the week and pretty quickly develop into Tropical Storm Sara.

Potential Tropical Cyclone 19 is expected to become Tropical Storm Sara as it approaches Central America, and may be near hurricane strength, according to the National Hurricane Center. It's also expected to cross the Gulf of Mexico and approach Florida. Where it will land? How strong? Still too far out to know for sure.
