4 Illinois Restaurants Suddenly Closing Their Doors Forever
I've lost track of how many area restaurants that have decided to call it a day in 2024. You can add 4 more Illinois restaurants to the list as each will close their doors forever between now and the middle of December.
Think it's just the mom and pop restaurants that are facing challenges this year? Guess again. Even sports legend Michael Jordan has decided to close one of his places. According to Eater Chicago , Michael Jordan's Steakhouse in Oak Brook, Illinois will close after December 17.
Bar Cargo announced on Instagram that their last day of business will be December 1.
Another surprise Illinois restaurant closing comes from a taco favorite in Chicago, Taqueria Chingón . After years in business, they will close after November 26.
Eater Chicago also says that craft brewer Revolution Brewing on Milwaukee Avenue is closing after 15 years. Their doors will be locked on December 14.
I would like to think that this will be the last of the Illinois restaurant closings to share this year, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it will not be. The rate that we're seeing restaurants in Missouri and Illinois close is alarming. Let's hope the restaurant business landscape turns around soon.
