2 new coffee shops opening in the Omaha metro area

A new coffee shop will open soon in La Vista.

Las Chilenas will have a variety of drinks, plus muffins and other pastries baked on the spot. It also will serve empanadas.

Owners have not revealed a launch date, but promise surprises and special promotions at a grand opening.

Council Bluffs' new drive-through coffee shop

Frosted Pine Coffee recently opened at 2701 Kanesville Blvd. in Council Bluffs.

The drive-through-only shop has an extensive menu of coffee drinks such as Americano and white chocolate mochas, plus energy drinks, Italian sodas and more.

It also serves "dirty sodas," such as the Scotchmallow, with root beer, butterscotch, toasted marshmallow and cream, and the Peachy Keen, with Sprite, raspberry, peach and cream.

It's open from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Go to frostedpinecoffee.com for more information.
