3 Takeaways from Eagles' Week 12 Win vs. Bills
I.Mitchell3 months ago
- Mitchell Leff/ The Eagles offense did little right in the first 30 minutes against the Bills. Philadelphia turned in one nice touchdown drive, but it had two punts and a pair of turnovers around before and after the scoring series. The Eagles looked hopeless and without an answer for Lane Johnson's absence at right tackle. Then everything changed once the second half began. D'Andre Swift came alive in the ground game and Hurts hit DeVonta Smith for a few key throws. Hurts had a stretch in the second half in which three of his four pass attempts were touchdown throws. The Eagles provided an answer for everything the Bills threw at them in the second half, and that led to overtime. The home side drove 34 yards in 90 seconds to set up Elliott's game-tying kick and then it won the game on a nine-play, 75-yard drive that ended in a Hurts touchdown run. The bounce-back showing in the second half proved the Eagles can deal with anything that is thrown at them, and that makes them an even stronger Super Bowl contender than last season.
