Local theater debuts 'Flu Season'

Jackson-Milton Veterans Day Drive Kindergarten students at Jackson-Milton Elementary are learning about the service and sacrifice of our nation's military. To show their appreciation, students have organized a food and comfort item drive for active-duty soldiers serving overseas. From Nov. 4-8, students are collecting donations such as powdered drink mixes, hot chocolate, protein bars, beef jerky, cough drops, mints and gum, ChapStick, playing cards and personal items like toothpaste, toothbrushes and deodorant. Items are being collected by Mrs. Prozy's kindergarten classroom at Jackson-Milton Elementary School, 14110 Mahoning Ave.
Joshua Dixon (Columbiana) Elementary Veterans Breakfast Students have the opportunity to invite veterans from the community or family members to eat breakfast with them in the cafeteria/multipurpose room. The 4th Grade will perform "This Land is Your Land" and students will distribute yellow carnations. Nov. 8 at 9 a.m. 333 N. Middle St.
Mercer Elementary School Program Mercer Elementary School will host its annual Veterans Day program at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 8 in the elementary school gymnasium. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. All veterans and their families are welcome to attend. Nov. 8 at 9:30 a.m. 301 Lamor Road
Leetonia Veteran's Day Assembly Leetonia Schools are putting on their annual Veterans Day assembly in the school cafeteria. The LHS band will perform at the assembly and then continue on to the Washingtonville V.F.W. for a 12:30 p.m. concert performance. The band will also perform at the National Veterans Day in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 11. Friday, Nov. 8 at 9:15 a.m. 8286 South Avenue
South Range School Ceremony The ceremony will feature songs from the high school choir and elementary students, guest speakers and a flyover provided by the US Air Force (Vienna). Nov. 8 from 8:30-10 a.m. South Range Schools Courtyard and Auditorium
Champion Veterans Tribute Join us this week on Friday as we honor our community veterans. The program begins at 10:00 a.m. Veterans are invited to arrive at 9:30 a.m. for refreshments and to join the procession into the auditorium. Friday, Nov. 8 at 9:30 a.m. 5976 Mahoning Ave NW
Boardman Veterans Program A veterans program of music and readings will be presented. The choirs of Westminster and Boardman United Methodist will combine. A bagged lunch will be served during the 45-minute concert. The event is free and open to the public. Sunday, Nov. 10 at noon Westminster Presbyterian Church, 119 Stadium Dr.
Grove City Veterans Day Parade The parade on Saturday, Nov. 9 is organized and hosted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Grove City Post. It will begin at 12 p.m. and parade participants will march from Broad Street and Blair Street to the VFW.
Niles Veterans Day Brunch From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Nov. 10, a brunch is being held at the McKinley Heights Fire Hall, at 2229 Gardenland Ave., to help support local veterans. The cost is $10 a plate, but veterans eat free.
Fundraiser for Disabled American Veterans at Hallidays Winery From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, a brunch/lunch event will be held to benefit Disabled American Veterans in Austintown. The event is free for veterans. The cost for others is $26.95 for adults and $14.95 for kids, and tickets can be purchased online. Hallidays Winery is located at 2400 NE River Road in Lake Milton. Veterans Christmas Time Celebration There will be a Veterans Christmas Time Celebration at the Moss Ancestral Home, 1499 Burnett St. in Mineral Ridge, on Sunday, November 10. An old-fashioned Christmas tree lighting (real candles) decorated with ornaments celebrating veterans will have showings at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Wartime carols associated with the Civil War, WWI and WWII will be sung by Addison Goche, a Mineral Ridge student, along with some students from Seaborn Elementary. Space is limited. There will be a small gift for the veterans made by Tenley McElhaney. The Mineral Ridge Historical Society house, across the street from the Moss Ancestral Home, will also be open for visitors to view the history of Mineral Ridge.
Lisbon Exempted Village Schools Veterans Presentation Local veterans are invited to attend a student-produced picture and film presentation. The high school band will perform. Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. David Anderson Jr./Sr. High School, 260 W. Pine St.
Sebring Local Schools Veterans Day Program The community is invited to attend the program, which will include performances by the high school choir, student readings, a video slideshow and a guest speaker who is a member of American Legion Post 76 – Sebring. Nov. 11 at 8:30 a.m. Sebring McKinley Jr./Sr. High School, 225 E. Indiana Ave.
Columbiana Exempted Village Schools Veterans Breakfast & Program Breakfast begins at 8:45 in the middle school cafeteria or 9 a.m. in the high school cafeteria (veterans are attending in the building in which their student belongs). The program will start at approximately 9:45/10 and will include Bill Johnson as the guest speaker; the Legion Post 290 Honor Guard; a piano solo by Colton Ward; musical selections by the high school choir, Soundcheck show choir and 6th Grade choir members; a slideshow of veteran photos; and a gun salute/Taps. Nov. 11 at 8:45 a.m. Columbiana Middle School and High School, 720 Columbiana-Waterford Rd.
Lisbon Exempted Village Schools Veterans Breakfast Elementary students will host local veterans for a breakfast and program performed by fifth graders. Veterans will also view patriotic artwork created by students. The public is invited to attend. Nov. 11 at 9 a.m. McKinley Elementary, 441 E. Chestnut St.
Jackson Milton Middle/High School Veterans Program The high school/middle school will host a special ceremony with student performances and guest speakers Teresa Nicholason from American Legion Post 236, CMSgt. Jacob Kelecava and CMSgt. Ronald Mines. All branches of the military will be honored, followed by a luncheon for veterans. All local veterans and the general public are welcome. Jackson Milton Elementary School Veterans Luncheon The elementary school will host a luncheon for veterans with a program following at 1:30. This event is open to the public. Nov. 11 at 12:30 p.m. 14110 Mahoning Ave., in the gymnasium
Greenville High School Program Greenville High School invites veterans to the Veterans Day Assembly program scheduled at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 11 in the high school auditorium. The program has been organized to honor local veterans and offer students an opportunity to gain further awareness of the sacrifices and contributions made by veterans. Veterans will be acknowledged during the program and should arrive by 8:15 a.m. Nov. 11 at 8:30 a.m. 9 Donation Road
Hermitage Veteran's Day Parade The parade on Monday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. will form behind the Hermitage Giant Eagle in the parking lot at 6 p.m. The parade will move south on Kerrwood Drive to East State Street.
Youngstown Veteransway Lunch This lunch sponsored by Link 22 will feature barbeque and vendors from YSU, Meijer and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Nov. 11 from 1-3 p.m. Word & Music Ministries, 1451 Churchill Hubbard Road, Youngstown
Wheatland Legion Veteran's Day Parade The Wheatland Legion Veteran's Day Parade is Monday, November 11, 2024. The actual parade will commence at 6:00 p.m. The majority of the affected roadways will be closed at about 5:30 p.m or earlier. The parade will commence from the area of the Hermitage Towne Plaza (North Kerrwood Drive) and travel east on East State Street to Kilgore Road.
Veterans Day Discounts
Applebee's Applebee's is offering veterans and active duty military a special Veterans Day meal on Monday, Nov. 11, where they can select from delicious entrées at Applebee's across the country (dine-in only).
Bob Evans Bob Evans is offering a free meal to all veterans and active-duty military on Monday, Nov. 11. The special 2024 Veterans Day menu features a selection of 10 entrees available all day long for dine-in only. Guests wishing to enjoy a free Veterans Day meal must provide proof of service. Accepted identification includes US Uniformed Services ID Card, US Uniformed Services Retired Card, current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), veterans organization card (i.e. American Legion, VFW), a photograph of yourself in uniform, wearing a uniform, DD214, and citation or commendation.
Braydich Dental Free dental care, including cleanings, fillings, extractions and denture adjustments, to veterans on November 13 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Proof of military service is required. Braydich Dental is located at 45 E. Liberty St. in Hubbard.
Chick-fil-A Stop by the Chick-fil-A restaurant at 1110 Boardman Poland Road for a complimentary meal for veterans and active-duty military members. The meals will be provided from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 11 for those who show a proper ID. Check other Chick-fil-A restaurants for information as to whether they are participating in a Veterans Day special.
Golden Corral Military Appreciation Night will be held on Monday, November 11, from 4 p.m. to close. Any person who has served in the U.S. military is eligible for a free "thank you" dinner.
Great Clips Veterans and active military members can visit a U.S. Great Clips salon and receive either a free haircut that day or a free haircut card. In addition, non-military customers who get a haircut on Veterans Day at Great Clips will receive a free haircut card they can give to an active service member or veteran.
Free meal of half turkey sub and regular size fountain drink. The offer includes extras and add-ons to the sub. Also offering a free car wash (the $9 option) at Sheetz locations that have a car wash. For veterans and active duty military personnel. Military ID or proof of service must be presented to qualify.
Springfield Grille On Veteran's Day, Monday, Nov. 11, we invite you to dine with a veteran or active-duty service member and their lunch or dinner is our treat. Proof of military service is required.
Texas Roadhouse Each year on November 11, Texas Roadhouse locations across the country offer a complimentary meal to veterans and active-duty military personnel as a token of appreciation for their bravery and dedication. Veterans and active-duty service members can choose from a select menu.
