The GFWC Seward Woman's Club will be honoring the area Seward County First Responders units at their 2024 Christmas Festival of Trees to be held this year in the John Cattle Room at the Nebraska National Guard Museum in Seward. The Festival of Trees will open on Saturday, Nov. 30 at the museum and is free and open to the public. Area First Responder Groups/Units include area Fire Departments, EMT's and Rescue Units-along with our local law enforcement programs in Seward County. The GFWC Seward Woman's Club invites all the local First Responder Units to sponsor a tree and decorate that Christmas Tree on behalf of their group. There are a limited number of artificial trees available and a limited amount of space this year, at the Festival of Trees is at the Ne National Guard Museum instead of at the Seward Civic Center. The Civic Center is under a current renovation and will be completed next year. Area First Responder's groups are invited to decorate the tree and must furnish their own decorations, lights, topper, skirt and extension cords-promoting their area or organization. There are trees at the museum to "borrow" for the display. The trees must be in place by Saturday, Nov. 30 and can remain up through Christmas or taken down after the festival weekend. For more information and to register your First Responder group please contact GFWC Club members Rene' Chandler at or call Jean Kolterman at 402-43-3803.
