Aaron Rodgers Criticized by Jets Fans for 3 INT as Vikings' Darnold Wins Revenge Game

Bob Kupbens/Icon Sportswire via Last month, Aaron Rodgers emphasized the need for he and his New York Jets teammates to stay grounded in the face of any on-field success. It turns out, that might not be much of a problem.

The Jets fell to 2-3 on the season with a 23-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday in London.

Rodgers had a tough day, finishing 29-of-54 for 244 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions..

One of those picks went for six points as Vikings linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel intercepted a pass and returned it 63 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter.

The last turnover sealed the win for the Vikings. On a 3rd-and-10 at the Vikings' 26-yard line inside the final minute, Rodgers and wide receiver Mike Williams weren't on the same page and it resulted in an interception for Minnesota cornerback Stephon Gilmore.

Once again, New York's offense couldn't capitalize on what was a strong performance from its defense. The Jets held the Vikings to 253 yards and didn't let the Minnesota offense find the end zone.

The blame for the team's start goes beyond just Rodgers. The franchise acquired the four-time MVP in the hope he was the missing piece, though, and he simply doesn't look like a quarterback who can get New York to the promised land.

Sam Darnold fared even worse than Rodgers in terms of total output. He threw for 179 yards and one interception on 31 attempts. Still, getting one over on his old team will feel good for the Vikings quarterback.

One concern for Minnesota is that the Darnold renaissance might be over because this is the player fans have seen for much of his career rather than the one who started 2024 so strongly.

It's too early to say the Jets have a must-win game in Week 6 against the Buffalo Bills, but the stakes are pretty close to that. Should New York come out flat, the fan angst in the Big Apple will hit a fever pitch.
