Active York County community member arrested on child porn charges

An active member in the local York community has been arrested for possession of child porn following an investigation by Pennsylvania State Police.

Christopher Harris, 33, was arrested on June 27 on multiple felony child porn charges. Harris was the solicitor for the Littlestown School District, the Vice President of the York-Adams Big Brothers Big Sisters and was on the board of Dreamwrights Center for Community Arts.

Police documents say that a cybertip came to PSP on August 11, 2023, stating that a file containing child porn was uploaded to Dropbox.

A warrant was processed on August 15 by PSP for the internet information of the user, revealing them to be Christopher Harris of Carlisle, PA.

Investigators reviewed the content and confirmed that it was footage of two teenage victims engaging in sexual acts. Troopers issued a warrant for Harris' arrest and served him on May 31, 2024.

Troopers served Harris at his apartment and began an interview where investigators asked him about the Dropbox and email account associated with the cybertip.

Troopers say that Harris asked investigators if he could speak with his attorney that also happened to live upstairs in the same apartment building, records say. After consulting with his attorney and reading the warrant for his arrest, Harris continued to speak with PSP.

Investigators asked Harris about the media accounts associated with his name and address, specifically an email address that began with Harris' initials "clh" that was listed in the cybertip. Harris denied affiliation with the email address.

Investigators asked Harris about whether he used other media apps on his cellphone and computer, and whether he received nude photos on those apps. Harris claimed to only have used Grinder to meet other men, then using Snapchat to share nude photos with those people.

Police records state that upon questioning, Harris denied looking at or saving any files depicting child porn. When asked by investigators if there was anything else they should know about, Harris shared that his neighbor used his wi-fi for free before he moved out in 2023.

Forensic investigators seized both Harris' phone and laptop, finding a video file of a male juvenile involved in sexual acts. A frequently visited website was also found on Harris' phone, a site that hosted submitted stories of adult men having sexual contact with minors.

Investigators also discovered voyeuristic photos of high school students standing outside, the photos were described in a police affidavit as "zoomed in to the crotch of one of the males."

Christopher Harris awaits a July 24 preliminary hearing while out on bail for multiple felony child porn charges.
