Affidavit: Waco woman stomped on victim’s head, attempted to strike victim with hatchet

WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A Waco woman was arrested on Nov. 7 for physically assaulting a woman and attempting to strike her with a hatchet, an affidavit claims.

Erica Bristol, 37, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and for possessing a controlled substance weighing less than one gram.

According to the affidavit, officers arrived at the intersection of North 13th St. and Jefferson Ave. at approximately 1:45 p.m. after receiving a call of an assault in-progress.

Upon meeting with the victim, officers learned that the suspect, later identified to be Bristol, grabbed the victim by her hair and threw her to the ground, the affidavit claims. Bristol allegedly proceeded to stomp on the victim's face, causing bruising on the left side of the victim's face.

According to the affidavit, Bristol then grabbed a hatchet and held it over the victim, acting like she was going to swing the weapon before it was taken from her by Bristol's boyfriend.

Bristol was taken into custody after the incident, and according to the affidavit officers found a small plastic bag that contained methamphetamine on her person.

According to the affidavit, the victim filed a motion to prosecute Bristol for the assault.

Bristol is currently being held in the McLennan County Jail with no bond listed on the county's website.
