Airman facing charges after he allegedly broke into business, assaulted woman

EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — An active-duty Air Force member has been arrested after he allegedly broke into an Alamogordo business, assaulted a female employee there and stole money, Alamogordo Police said.

At about 5:10 p.m. Thursdsay, Sept. 19, officers from the Alamogordo Police Department responded to reports of a theft in progress at a business along the 1700 block of East 10th Street.

After the initial investigation, Alamogordo Police said they learned that a male suspect entered the business, assaulted the sole female employee there, committed sexual assault and stole money before fleeing.

Alamogordo Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division and investigators with the 12th Judicial District Attorney's Office responded and investigated the incident.

The suspect was identified as 21-year-old Isaiah Rashaun King, a member of the Air Force, Alamogordo Police said.

With help from the Air Force Office of Special Investigations and law enforcement from White Sands Missile Range, King was located and arrested, Alamogordo Police said.

King is being charged with kidnapping, criminal sexual penetration, robbery, aggravated battery, attempted criminal sexual penetration, battery and larceny, Alamogordo Police said.

He is being held at Otero County Detention Center, pending his appearance in Magistrate Court.
