Man injured, home hit by gunfire during Lexington Park shooting

ST. MARY'S COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office (SMCSO) is investigating after a man was shot and a home was struck by multiple bullets in Lexington Park Sunday night.

According to the Sheriff's Office, shortly after 10:30 p.m., deputies were notified of a shooting in the 22000 block of Valley Estates Drive.

There, they found a man who had been shot. The SMCSO said deputies immediately began helping him until medics arrived.

Police investigating double shooting in Southeast DC

Responders took him to the regional hospital for treatment. He is listed in stable condition.

As the investigation developed, deputies learned that bullets hit a home in the area multiple times during the shooting.

According to the SMCSO, no other injuries were reported.
