Alabama Power Foundation Donates $125,000 To Stillman College
TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama Power Foundation on Wednesday presented a $125,000 donation to Stillman College during a community giving reception.
{p/p}"We are honored to support Stillman College in its mission to provide exceptional education and community service," said Jill Stork, Alabama Power's Western Division vice president. "This donation reflects our belief in the power of education to transform lives and communities, particularly through Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), which are critical to the growth and success of our region."
Other donors included Google, Wells Fargo, Dr. Charles and Susan Stillman, who are descendants of the college's founder, and the Stillman College board of trustees.
Stillman says the contributions collectively raised more than $3.2 million to go toward education and community development.
"We are deeply grateful for the generosity and support from the Alabama Power Foundation and all of our partners," Stillman College President Yolanda Page said. "Their contributions go far beyond financial support. Alabama Power has provided guidance, volunteers, and opportunities for our students, helping us continue our mission to educate and empower the next generation of leaders."
Wednesday's reception also marked the launch of Stillman College's "30 Days of Giving" online fundraising campaign, which runs through Dec. 3.
